Dermaplaning is the use of a scalpel to remove excess dead skin and excess fine facial hair on women. It has the benefits of allowing for better product penetration and makeup application as well as stimulating collagen and elastin. It can also define hairlines, eyebrows and sideburns, giving your clients a better overall facial shape. Dermaplaning can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a pre-treatment for skin resurfacing, microdermabrasion or other ablative or electrical treatments. The treatment is similar to a male shave. A scalpel is used to gently scrape the surface of the epidermis and remove unwanted dead skin cells, oil and hair. Skin remains radiant, soft and smooth for 2-4 weeks.
